How do streaks work? I missed a day and didn't lose mine.
That's by design. Swap forgives a single missed day — real habit change isn't perfectly linear, and one busy day shouldn't erase weeks of effort. Two missed days in a row breaks the streak.
Premium members also get Streak Freeze: two protected days per month you can apply to a missed day.
Why 66 days?
Research on habit formation found it takes 66 days on average for a new behavior to feel automatic. That's the finish line Swap tracks toward — when you reach it, your tree is fully grown and the habit is considered formed.
How does the buddy system work?
Generate an invite code from the Buddy tab and share it with a friend, or enter theirs. Once connected, you'll see each other's streak and daily check-in status, can chat privately, cheer each other on, and send a rescue nudge when your buddy hasn't checked in yet.
You can remove, block, or report a buddy anytime from the Buddy tab. Blocked users can't see your activity or message you, and you can review who you've blocked under Profile → Blocked Users.
My notifications aren't arriving.
First check that notifications are enabled: Profile → Notifications toggle in the app, and iOS Settings → Apps → Swap → Notifications. If you denied the permission when first asked, iOS won't re-prompt — the toggle in the app will take you to Settings to turn it on.
Also check Focus modes and Scheduled Summary in iOS Settings — both can silently delay or hide notifications.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are handled by Apple. Open iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Swap to change plans or cancel. Cancelling keeps Premium active until the end of the current billing period.
To restore a previous purchase on a new device, open the paywall in the app and tap Restore Purchases.
What's the difference between "Restart from day 1" and "Start a new habit"?
Restart keeps the same habit but resets your streak to zero for a clean slate. Start a new habit retires your current journey to Past Journeys — as a Trophy if you reached 66 days, or in the Graveyard if not — and begins a fresh swap.
How do I delete my account and data?
Profile → Delete Account. This permanently removes your habit data, buddy connections, messages, and your account itself from our servers. It cannot be undone.
If you just want a fresh start without deleting your account, use Profile → Reset All Progress instead.
Is my data private?
Your habit data syncs to our servers only as a private backup tied to your account — no one else can read it, and we never sell data. Buddies see only your streak, check-in status, and what you send in chat. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
