Terms of Use

For the Surtaal iOS app · Effective 4 August 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and KTM Studio ("we", "us") covering your use of the Surtaal app. By downloading or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Your account

You need an account to use Surtaal. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has gained access to it. You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, and at least 13.

2. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Surtaal on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, redistribute, sell, rent, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the app's audio samples or content, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.

3. Premium and payment

Auto-renewing subscriptions. Surtaal offers subscription plans and a one-time lifetime unlock. Prices are shown in the app in your local currency before you confirm any purchase.

4. Managing and cancelling

You manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings, not in the app: open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

5. Refunds

Purchases are handled by Apple, so refunds are at Apple's discretion under its own policies. We cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases directly. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something is wrong with the app, please contact us as well — we would rather fix it.

6. Your content

The patterns you create, your practice history, and your recordings remain yours. You grant us only the limited permission needed to store and sync the material described in our Privacy Policy so it is available on your devices. Recordings are not uploaded to us at all.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use Surtaal to break the law, to interfere with the app or our servers, to access other users' accounts, or to circumvent the paywall or any technical limits in the app.

8. Availability and changes

We may add, change or remove features, and we may stop offering the app or a particular plan. If we discontinue a plan you have already paid for, you will keep access for the period you paid for.

9. Educational use

Surtaal is a practice tool. It is not a substitute for a teacher, and we make no promise about the musical results you will achieve with it.

10. Disclaimer and liability

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of the app is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and this does not affect any statutory consumer rights you have.

11. Apple

Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to provide support for Surtaal. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Any claim relating to the app's failure to conform to a warranty is our responsibility, not Apple's.

12. Termination

You may stop using Surtaal at any time and delete your account. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top will change, and continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
