Surtaal Tabla — Your practice companion

We collect the following categories of information when you use Surtaal Tabla:
Your name, email address, and profile photo (when provided via your chosen sign-in method). For Apple Sign In users, we may receive a private relay email address.
Optional details you enter in your profile, such as age and gender, to help us personalise your experience.
Session history, BPM records, raag and taal preferences, practice streaks, and goals you set within the app.
Basic device identifiers and iOS version, used for crash reporting and performance monitoring only.

Surtaal Tabla supports the following sign-in methods, all powered by Firebase Authentication:
Your email and hashed password are stored securely by Firebase. We never store your password in plain text.
Apple may provide a private relay email address to protect your real email. Your name is only shared by Apple on your first sign-in. We store whatever Apple provides and allow you to update your name in your profile at any time.
Your Google account name, email, and profile photo are used to create your Surtaal Tabla account.
You may use the app without creating an account. Anonymous accounts have no associated personal data. If you later upgrade to a named account, your practice data is retained.
Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Authentication), which is protected by industry-standard security measures including:
Your practice data is stored in Firestore under your unique user ID. No other user can read or write your data.

We do not integrate advertising SDKs or analytics platforms that track you across other apps.
Surtaal Tabla is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Account deletion removes your data from our active databases. Backup copies may be retained for up to 30 days before permanent deletion.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you via an in-app message.
Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
